Top 5 Tuesday – Top 5 Books about a Wedding

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Time for another Top 5 Tuesday, this week’s topic is books about weddings, and once again I got super side tracked today getting this post together, I meant to get it out earlier but here we are. So, weddings, I love a good book with a wedding, and yes I know that is basically every romance book out there, but I have tried to get some variety and not just a list of romance novels. So I have picked a few books, some with a wedding ceremony at the center of the book, and the two proper romances I picked both have some drama around the wedding/marriage not just as the denouement.

1. Dial A for Aunties & Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto

I had to include these books, not only are they right at the top of my favorites list, with two wild weddings, but also I just recently read them both and they are just so much fun. I have read both and really enjoyed them but the first is still my favorite, and if you are looking for a lavish wedding look no further than the wedding in the first book. Also if you have read anything else like this book I want to hear about it, I want more books like this.

2. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

Dial A for Aunties reminds me of this book so much, and the big lavish wedding is just one of the parallels between the two stories. So I had to include it too, we not only get the wedding in this book but also the bachelor and bachelorette parties too. I have read the whole series and I enjoyed them a lot but haven’t talked about them much recently.

3. The Princess Bride by William Goldman

I wanted to include this book on the list first because I have been thinking about reading it soon (I just got myself a copy at the end of March) but mostly I included it because of the wedding scene in the movie, it is just the best, you know the one, you’re welcome.

4. You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle

This is one of my favorite contemporary romances, and one that I actually got of one of Meeghan’s Top 5 Tuesdays Posts at the end of last year (Thank You for the rec, I loved it). The premise is all about this couple who is engaged but it is so not working at the beginning of the book, but neither of them wants to be the one to call off the wedding (mostly because of the overbearing prospective mother-in-law who wants everything her way). So they each go about trying to get the other to call of the wedding and hilarity ensues. Honestly this could have gone off the rails if not handled well, but she does a great job it is totally worth putting on your TBR.

5. What a Gentleman Wants by Caroline Linden

I really love Caroline Linden’s books, if you have run out of Julia Quinn books I highly recommend picking up her books. Now my favorite series of her’s is the Scandalous series, but this book has a really fun marriage twist. Hannah, the young widow of a country Vicar, marries a kind gentleman she nurses back to health after a carriage accident only to find that when she comes to London, that she is in fact legally married to his twin brother, the Duke of Exeter, whom she is only now meeting.

Happy Reading Everyone!
