Top 5 Tuesday – Top 5 Anticipated Reads, July-September 2022

Happy Tuesday,

And it is the start of a new quarter (yes I can hardly believe it either) which means that this weeks Top 5 Tuesday, is all about what books we are looking forward to reading in the next few months. I was seriously tempted just to list off all the MMD Summer Reading Guide titles that I haven’t gotten my hands on yet, but I am trying for a bit of variety.

1. A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting by Sophie Irwin – New Release

I started seeing this book on Instagram a few months ago and it really looks like a great pick for me. I have had a hold on it for ages and only just found out that the pub date is now really close, is comes out next week, so I am excited.

2. The Royals Next Door by Karina Halle – Romance

I just got a copy of this book last week, I had seen it around but I went and read the jacket copy and I got excited all over again about picking it up. I am a big fan of a modern royal story (The Palace sigh) and hopefully I enjoy this one too.

3. The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix – Fantasy

I got myself a copy of this book about a month ago and I have yet to pick it up. I have heard great things about it that make me think I will really enjoy it. I really like how quirky it sounds, a lot of the fantasy book that I have been thinking about picking up recently come across pretty dark and serious, which has not been something that has made me particularly excited to pick them up at the moment but this one sounds like a good fit right now.

4. Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews – Reading Challenge

This book is the next one I am going to pick up for my 30 for 30 reading challenge, it is a rec from one of my best friends and I have enjoyed some of Andrews’ other books so I am excited to see how I enjoy it.

5. The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd – MMD Summer Reading Guide

I have several MMD picks that I am really excited about reading, but I think this is the one I am most excited about so it got the slot. This sounds like such a fun literary-esque mystery that could be a fabulous fit with some of the other books I have really enjoyed in the past few years.

Happy Reading Everyone!
