And yes believe it or not we are halfway through the year and so for this week’s Top 5 Tuesday we are talking about our favorite books of the year so far. I have been keeping track of my favorite new books as I read for the past few years. So it was just perfect that I had 5 favorites for the year so far when I looked at my reads for 2022.
1. The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
This was only the second book I read this year and it is still at the top of my favorites list for the year. This book (which yes I still need to get around to writing a review for) is just a perfect book for me. It is historical fantasy/romance, and so funny. I have read the second book in the series and enjoyed it as well but this one is still my favorite.
2. The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer
I decided to pick up Georgette Heyer as a classic to try this year and I was so thrilled with this book. This was the first book of her’s that I picked up this year, I have read 4 of her books but this one was my favorite, and I just loved Sophy. It was a really enjoyable read and any Austen or Regency Romance fans should pick this book up.
3. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Yes I finally read this book, I have been hearing rave reviews about it for years, and yeah now I see what everyone was talking about, it was great. I have yet to read McQuiston’s other books but I have my eye on Shara Wheeler to pick up soon. This is one of those books you just want to hug when you finish reading it, if you haven’t read it yet you totally should.
4. Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
(Noticing a theme here? Yeah all the romance… and UK connections… and two pride picks…) I have also been hearing great things about this book for ages but I finally picked this book up because I found out that there is a sequel coming out later this year which gave me the nudge I needed to pick it up. This book was just so endearing, I love a London story and there is some great humor and they do a great job with the fake dating trope.
5. Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Have I been raving about this book enough? Yes, you probably could have guessed that this book would be on this list (it is the only new book that I haven managed to get a review up for this year). I adored this book so much, it was so much fun, hilarious and heartfelt. Emily Henry is brilliant and I am so glad she has returned to the book world in this book; it was wonderful.
Happy Reading Everyone!
