Happy Tuesday Everyone,
it is time for Top 5 Tuesday, and this week we are talking about bookish accessories. There are a few directions I could have gone and I was tempted to pick my favorite props for bookstagram posts (I especially like to use flowers and candles). I also like using them as decor on my bookshelves but they aren’t really things I have around while actually reading.
1. My Phone
I am not sure this should actually count as an accessory since my phone basically is my books, about 90% of my books are audio that I listen to on my phone (36 of the books I have read this year have been just on Libby, which is my favorite). And it is all Audio not eBooks, they really just don’t work for me, I only read an eBook when it is the only format that I can get my hands on. Which is also why I use my phone and not something bigger.
2. My Headphones
The Audio experience would not be complete without a good set of headphones, my favorite are a sony bluetooth pair and I really should order a new pair since mine is let’s go with well used, I definitely get my money’s worth out of my headphones.
3. Bookmarks (SOOO Many Bookmarks)
I have a huge collection of bookmarks, though I also don’t tend to use my prettiest bookmarks because they are just so pretty. I also like saving the packaging for the individually packaged tea bags to use as bookmarks, they work quite well and they also smell good.
4. A Cozy Blanket
I love a cozy blanket, especially when I sit down with a physical book. Something warm and fuzzy, cause that is just what you want when you are sitting in one spot for a long time. I have one really nice blanket that is perfect but I would love to get another.
5. My Reading Trackers (yes multiple)
I came up with the first 4 things for this list really quickly but then was trying to figure out what the last item should be and then it dawned on me that my lovely color coded excel reading log was the obvious choice. I didn’t really think of it earlier because it isn’t an obvious accessory, it is on my computer after all but I use it a lot and I spend quite a bit of time updating it. I do have a reading journal but I use it mostly for notes when I am out of the house (and not by my computer), or recently to make notes on quotes. And the other reading tech I use is StoryGraph, which I set up fairly recently and I have been loving it.
Happy Reading Everyone!
