Happy Tuesday Everyone! Who is ready to talk books?
This week’s topic Top 5 Tuesday is: Top 5 Hyped Books On My TBR, and boy is it hard to narrow that down to 5. Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at the Bionic Book Worm and is now hosted by Meeghan at the Meeghan Reads. And as I was putting this list together I realized that almost all of them are books I have either heard about first from MMD or have been talked about on the podcast, but then again Anne basically counts as Hype doesn’t she?
1. Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan
I had to start this list with this book, cause I mean Kevin Kwan, and because it is next up on my TBR. I loved the Crazy Rich Novels, and I actually just found a copy of Rich People Problems at the book sale this week too, so clearly it is time to read this book.
2. Uprooted by Naomi Novik
I have been hearing about this book for literally years at this point and I have actually checked it out before but never started it. I get the feeling that I will really enjoy it once I get around to actually reading it but my library doesn’t have a copy of the audio, so it keeps getting pushed down my reading priority list, I really should fix this.
3. Force of Nature by Jane Harper
So really this book is here to represent all of the Jane Harper books that I have yet to read, which I think is three in total. I read The Dry back in 2017 and thought it was really good, but I have yet to pick up any of her newer books.
4. Circe by Madeline Miller
Yet another book that I have been thinking about reading for ages and just haven’t picked up yet. I read The Song of Achilles in 2019 and I could see why it got so much attention, I thought the writing itself was incredible but if I am honest I didn’t actually like it that much as a story. There was something about it maybe it felt a bit to dream like, too detached, I didn’t really care for the characters and that has kept me from picking up this book even with all the glowing reviews.
5. People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
Oh I am so excited to read this book, I loved Beach Read and when I read the description of this book as a twist on When Harry Met Sally, which I also love, say no more I am totally in for this book. Now I just have to wait my hold to come in, it shouldn’t be too much longer now.
Happy Reading Everyone!
